| In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Frankfort Community Public Library welcomes all women artists across the state of Indiana to submit to the annual Women’s Expo Exhibition. All ages and skill levels are welcome. You may submit up to 5 pieces for consideration. The juror for this exhibition will be Arts & Education Coordinator Lori Brubaker.
GALLERY: The Anna & Harlan Hubbard Gallery is located within Frankfort Community Public Library. The gallery displays artwork by local artists, as well as artists across the state of Indiana and beyond. It is the goal of the gallery to help in the library’s mission to provide citizens with materials, programs, and facilities to meet their needs for education, information, recreation, and to serve as a cultural center for the community. ELIGIBILITY: This juried exhibition is open to all women artists across the state of Indiana. Any medium is accepted, and work must be original and completed in the last three years. All work must be accurately represented in jpeg images. Work not meeting these criteria will not be exhibited. PRESENTATION: Professional presentation of each piece is required. 2D artwork must be framed and MUST use hanging wire. For canvases, the sides and all staples must be covered. Sculptures should be fully assembled and structurally sound and include detailed installation instructions, if necessary. ENTRY: All entries must be emailed to the Arts & Education Coordinator, Lori Brubaker at lorib@myfcpl.org. Please fill out the attached entry form and email it along with your artwork images. Please do not submit more than 5 pieces for consideration. The gallery reserves the right to reproduce images accepted into the show for promoting and archiving the exhibition. Questions should be directed to lorib@myfcpl.org subject line “Women’s Expo 2024”. SALES: Work may be for sale. The Friends of the Frankfort Library handle all of the sales, and retain a 30% commission. You may list artwork as “NFS” (Not for Sale) if you choose. DELIVERY & PICK-UP: Delivery and pick-up of artwork will be the responsibility of the artist. The delivery and pick-up dates are listed below. If other arrangements need to be made, please contact the Arts & Education Coordinator as soon as possible at lorib@myfcpl.org. IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER: · Entries due: February 11th, 2024 (at Midnight) · Notifications to artist on or before: February 15th, 2024 · Delivery of Artwork: March 4th & 5th, 2024 (9-4pm: MUST email Lori ahead of time so can meet you in the gallery to drop off) · Exhibition Dates: March 8th-March 28th, 2024 · Exhibition Reception: Saturday, March 9th 1-3pm · Pick-up Artwork: Friday March 29th 9-4pm; Saturday March 30th 1-5pm (MUST email Lori ahead of time so she can meet you in the gallery) GALLERY INFO: HOURS: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Outside of these hours the gallery doors are locked unless another event is going on in the theatre. You may ask a library employee at the circulation desk to unlock it for you if you wish to access the exhibition in the evening or on the weekend. The Frankfort Library is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen artwork. They do their best to monitor the gallery and take care of each piece of art that they have on display.
