?Buck Creek Playhouse will hold open auditions for BUGSY MALONE JR., a Playhouse Players Youth Production by Paul Williams and Alan Parker, on Monday and Tuesday, June 6 and 7, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue.  Director Kelsee B. Hankins, Vocal Director Scott A. Fleshood, and Choreographer D. Scott Robinson are looking for a diverse group of 25 males and females (ages 18 and under) for this high energy youth musical.  Even if your child doesn't read yet, they are welcome to audition! They are interested in all ages!  Please come with 16-20 measures of a prepared song (verse and a chorus) in the correct key.  An accompanist will be provided.  You should be prepared to read from the script and to perform a short dance audition.  If you are a tap dancer, please bring tap shoes.  Please dress to dance.  All roles are available. BUGSY MALONE JR. is scheduled for six performances, weekends July 29-August 7, 2016.  Please bring a list of all conflicts from June through early August 2016.

Please contact them at buckcreekplayers@yahoo.com to peruse a copy of the script.

Based on the hit 1976 film starring a pre-teen Scott Baio and Jodi Foster and featuring a catchy, swinging score by the composer of The Muppet Movie, BUGSY MALONE JR. is good, clean, comedic fun! Two gangs comprised completely of children, square off in a 1920s rivalry of Capone-ian standards. Dandy Dan's gang has gotten the upper hand since obtaining the "splurge" gun , a weapon that shoots whipped cream. Now Fat Sam and his bumbling buffoons are in real trouble! Bugsy Malone, a one-time boxer, is thrust not-so-willingly into the gangster limelight when he becomes the last chance Fat Sam's gang has of surviving.
