Concerto Curriculum

Program Description
As part of each American Pianists Awards competition, every finalist (5 per competition) completes a residency with a high school orchestra or jazz band. Residencies typically span the course of three days and culminate in a joint public performance with school musicians. Program Detail
The next program will feature 5 CLASSICAL finalists. Programs will take place either the week before or the week after the following performance dates: October 4, 2020; November 1, 2020; December 6, 2020; January 31, 2021; and February 28, 2021.
Residencies last three days.
For the 2020-21 school year, all hosting schools must have an orchestra. The classical finalist will perform a piano concerto or movement from a piano concerto with the students. The hosting school must have a string program.
All activities take place on school grounds.
APA does not charge the school for Concerto Curriculum. Participating schools may charge the public for the final performance. Discounted tickets to APA events will also be provided to students and faculty.
