Arts for Learning engages children with the arts by bringing teaching artists into schools and communities. We believe in the arts and their ability to transform education. We believe that when learning is enriched with the arts, students get more out of school.

Latin Ballroom Dancing by Shawn Whistler
Students will observe Latin ballroom dancing and will dance in pairs learning steps from the cha cha, the merengue, or rumba.

Single workshop: $90
Multiple workshops: $80 each
Standard 1 - History
Anchor Standard 4 – Select, analyze, and interpret artistic work for presentation: Space, time, and energy are basic elements of dance.
Anchor Standard 5 – Develop and refine artistic techniques and work for presentation: Dancers use the mind-body connection and develop the body as an instrument for artistry and artistic expression.
Anchor Standard 11 – Relate artistic ideas and works with societal, cultural, and historical context to deepen understanding: Dance literacy includes deep knowledge and perspectives about societal, cultural, historical, and community contexts.
