Program description

Each year the Eiteljorg Museum hosts Native American and Western artists for one to three-week residencies. Artist experiences are available both at the museum and can be combined with gallery tours, and in your school classroom or other venue. Artists talk with students about their culture and their art and then lead them in an art making activity.

Richard will be available to schools from October 23 – 25, 2019. He will be the featured artist on Saturday, October 26 for the Museum’s community celebration, Dia de los Muertos.

Available times:

10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Length of program: 30 - 45 Minutes
Space / technical requirements:

Richard and the students will need to be located in a classroom or other space where students have a table or desk surface where they can use wooden mallets and large nails to punch tin. The museum will provide all supplies (tin, mallets, nails), along with padding for the table/desk top.

Location(s):

Eiteljorg Museum art studios or your classroom or other venue.

Fees / Ticketing:

Artist experiences are included in group admission to the museum. Students and accompanying adults in groups are $5 each. All preregistered IPS groups receive free admission to the museum. One payment due upon arrival–check, cash or Visa/MC

Inquire about Eiteljorg Museum transportation grants and additional program discounts if the artist comes to your classroom.
