1st Friday Art Event

Local Artist –  MURPHY HENDY

Funkyard presents the art of Murphy Hendy as their featured artist for December. Murphy is a glass artist originating from Michigan.  He received his BFA in Theatre from Wayne State University in Detroit; but has chosen to direct his focus to Floral Design, Interior Design, and Glasswork.  His current glasswork consists of colorful hand-cut shapes of glass woven into organic designs; combining techniques of stained glass and mosaic; culminating in a truly original style.

Each panel Murphy creates is organically inspired; as he does not create with any particular theme in mind.  His work manifests as each piece of glass is laid.  Murphy consistently incorporates mirror as a staple element in his work; as it allows for a dramatic interaction with the observers’ eyes as they pass by.  This work must be seen in person to truly appreciate.  This showing of work represents Murphy’s first public display of art. 
 

HENDY’S WORK WILL BE ON DISPLAY THROUGH DECEMBER.

FUNKYARD WILL ALSO HAVE LIVE MUSIC DURING THIS EVENT BY
