The Circle City Industrial Complex will host Amor al Arte (Love of Art) in the Schwitzer Gallery, on the second floor of the North Studios, opening on First Friday, February 3rd. Admission and parking are free.
“2023 is looking strong with three shows so far (an additional will be in May),” co-founder Mary Mindiola said. “We are looking for our members to take leadership so that they can learn more about their own art, how to book events, how to expose their work, and so that they can get known and get involved. We are working artists who are learning from each other and sharing experiences.”
“And it’s about courage,” co-founder Mirvia Sol Eckert said. “So many of us artists are in our shells, and we know many people won’t see our artwork if we don’t practice the courage of leadership. As Indy Latina Artists, we have to explain what we’re about and no one can do that better than the individual artist talking about their art. We’re hoping that, through these shows and opportunities, we all grow in the presentation of our art as much as we grow in the development and creation of our art.”

Circle City Industrial Complex (CCIC) será el anfitrión de Amor al arte en la galería Schwitzer. Localizada en el segundo piso de los estudios norte del edificio. La exhibición abrirá la noche del 3 de Febrero. Admisión y estacionamiento son gratuitos.
“El 2023 se ve triunfante con tres exhibiciones hasta ahora (y otras más en Mayo y Junio ),” dice la co-fundadora Mary Mindiola. “Estamos buscando que nuestras participantes tomen liderazgo para que aprendan más sobre su propio arte, cómo organizar exhibiciones, como promover su arte para que aprendan y se involucren. Nosotras somos artistas laborando en nuestra profesión, aprendiendo juntas y compartiendo experiencias.”
“Se trata de coraje” dice la co-fundadora Mirvia Sol Eckert “Muchos artistas nos escondemos aún sabiendo que muchos no verán nuestro arte. Tenemos que ser valientes y tomar liderazgo. Como artistas latinas de Indy tenemos que explicar quienes somos y nadie puede hacer eso mejor que nosotras mismas. Esperamos que por medio de estas múltiples exhibiciones y oportunidades todas nos preparemos en saber presentar nuestros trabajos así como también desarrollar y hacer crecer nuestro arte.”

Indy Latina Artists fue fundada en el otoño de 2021 por las artistas Mirvia Sol Eckert y Mary E. Mindiola. Este grupo se creó para proyectar comunidad a travez del arte y reconocer la contribución de mujeres latinas en el arte; así también para enpoderar, aconsejar, y fomentar el trabajo de artistas latinas por medio de exhibiciones que le den voz a las artistas latinas de Indy.
