WHAT: CANDLES Holocaust Museum & Education Center’s annual fundraising event. An Evening of Light will recognize Indiana teachers and students for their dedication to sharing Holocaust education in their communities, the late Eva Kor, our Founder’s impact, and how each of us can make a difference. CANDLES is proud to bring Letters from Anne and Martin, a product of the Anne Frank Center, USA, to central Indiana. This two-person play balances the experiences and inspirational words of two legendary figures: Anne Frank and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This unique stage production combines their writings and illustrates how although they lived on continents 5,000 miles apart and suffered fates in different
decades, Martin and Anne still shared parallel experiences living in the shadow of hatred and prejudice. Despite being faced with unfair persecution, he in the Jim Crow South and she in Nazi-occupied Holland, the African American Civil Rights Movement leader, and the Jewish Holocaust victim, believed in fairness and justice for all.

Additional FREE performances of Letters for Anne & Martin will take place around the state the dates of October 10-13, 2023.
