Asante Children's Theatre Academy Auditions

Asante Children’s Theatre extends an invitation to youth who are interested in auditioning for the Academy. Academy audition candidates must prepare and perform a 2-minute memorized poem or monologue, a 2-minute dance routine and perform 2 minutes of a song to be sung a cappella. Mentor-actors are encouraged to audition. Their audition must include a dance routine and song sung a cappella. All auditions will be held before a three- to five-member panel of observers with theatre and performing arts experience.

Candidates are evaluated based upon preparedness, enthusiasm, diction, projection, agility and creativity. Audition material presented must contain no profanity. There is no cost to audition. Auditions are open to any youth age 12 to 21 as well as mentor-actors over 18 years of age. Mentor-actor auditions must include a dance routine and song sung a cappella.
