Breakneck Julius Caesar

Tim Mooney, author/star of 2015\’s \”Breakneck Hamlet\” makes his fourth IndyFringe appearance with the award-winning \”Breakneck Julius Caesar\”  The Portland (Maine) Fringe named it a \”Critic\’s Choice,\” while KC Applauds gave it five stars (\”Magnificent.\”) Kansas City\’s \”Pitch\” magazine cheers \”The Shakespeare tragedy has never been so much fun and simultaneously instructive.\”

Tim tears through three hours of what (in other hands) might be droning classical verse, to cut to the chase, with \”Julius Caesar\” as an ironic potboiler, filled with (literal) backstabbing, sarcasm and a fair share of bumbling mishaps. The audience, joining in as the crowd, the senators and conspirators, can see, perhaps for the first time, the fiery muse that lights this play up, making it one of Shakespeare\’s most celebrated tragedies.
