About Andrea Light
Originally from Fort Wayne, Light earned a Bachelor of Art degree in Computer Art and a Masters in Art in Studio Art from the University of Saint Francis.
“My body of work is deeply driven by emotion,” said Light. “I find joy in the process of deconstructing the images of forced commercialism and injecting multiple layers of abstraction, to create an entirely new narrative.”
She works in a variety of media, exploring the tension between anger, suppression, and domination, using vivid colors, high contrast, and repetition.
“I aim to create compositions that embody a sense of uneasiness,” said Light. “I want the viewers to feel comfortable, feeling uncomfortable. To find beauty in the strange or bizarre. To question the societal norm.”
About the Full Circle Nine Gallery
The Full Circle Nine Gallery operates as an artist cooperative gallery, with each of the member artists and the board dividing gallery duties and artists roles. The artists will work together to help each other advance in skill and practice, as well as to bring success to the gallery.
