Central Indiana Dance Ensemble's Mixed Rep

Witness a stunning display of varied dancing selections, featuring Pas de Quatre and La Bayadère, by the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble. Pas de Quatre, which debuted in 1845, encapsulates the Romantic style of ballet, showcasing a sense of airiness and grace, as four dancers demonstrate various classical ballet techniques and steps with superb delicacy. La Bayadère, a saga from ancient royal India, tells the drama of a temple dancer, Nikiya, who is caught in an epic love triangle. Act III of La Bayadère hauntingly depicts The Kingdom of the Shades, as 32 ethereal bayadères, shrouded in white, transform into a slowly descending procession of spirits (Shades), marking their methodical and wraithlike entrance into the Underworld with a sequence of arabesques penchées.
