“Human Topographies” presents artist Dan Mills’ wide-ranging, decades-old interest in history, exploration, games and wordplay in order to investigate national and global networks of power, commerce and migration.
Mills created luminous, layered paintings and collages about our shared human history using maps and data to expose the legacies of imperialism: war, colonialism, mass incarceration and the forced displacement of indigenous peoples. Dan Mills: Human Topographies will be on view in the Galleries at IUPUI Herron School of Art and Design from Sept. 2 to Oct. 17, 2020.

ADMISSION INFO
Herron’s exhibitions are free and take place in Eskenazi Hall, 735 W. New York St. Adjusted gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Group visits must be arranged in advance by emailing hgallery@iupui.edu.
Herron Galleries will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of the holiday.
Parking is free in the Sports Complex Garage adjacent to Eskenazi Hall or on levels 5 and 6 of the Riverwalk Garage, courtesy of The Great Frame Up Indianapolis, with validation from the Herron galleries.
