James Baldwin said that artists are here to disturb the peace. During a time when Black Americans are considered a threat for merely existing – being arrested for sitting in a Starbucks, getting gunned down by police in their own backyards while holding cellphones – disturbing the peace can sometimes seem like a death wish.
