  • Have you always wanted to learn about opera, but have never had the opportunity or training? 'Singing for Success' is a workshop series that Indianapolis Opera offers all over the state for middle school or high school groups, where our resident artists help teach about basic vocal principles and sing to help demonstrate these concepts.

Alexander Henderson talks about the links between good posture and good breathing, which are obviously essential to good singing. He even offers a couple of exercises for you to try at home. He then demonstrates how this comes together by performing excerpts from 'Bob's Aria' from Giancarlo Menotti's "The Old Maid and the Thief" with Andrew Pham at the piano.

If you know an educator who would like to host a workshop at their school, please forward this video, or send an email to education at indyopera dot org to schedule a visit during the 2020-21 school year.

Please note that there are multiple videos in this series.
