-“Oh! Happy Day” by Jonathan McAfee in the Harrison Gallery. Former Indianapolis painter and Herron IUPUI grad returns to town to show work celebrating life and the simple moments.
-“Sunday Morning” by Dee Dee Benhardt in the City Gallery. These oil paintings convey not only a sense of time, but a sense of being as well. It conjures up intrigue of how even the seemingly nighttime scenes can be viewed as morning or night.
-“Music in the Background” by Mike Graves in the Speck Gallery. A collection of paintings featuring collaborations with Jeff Jeffries, Justin Cooper, Dan Thompson, and Leslie Dolin.
-“Merge: New Directions” by Barb Knuckles in the Annex Gallery. Featuring various mediums that discover and highlight the wonder in ordinary things, especially things in creation which are continually changing in different seasons and conditions.
-“Growing Pains”, a group show featuring nine Senior Painting Majors of Herron School of Art + Design in Hank & Dolly’s Gallery. This group is a collective of emerging female artists creating work on various subjects encompassing the topics of identity, memory, heritage, and belief.
-“Homebound,” by Lorie Lee Andrews and Kristin Schoonveld in the Underground Gallery. This work is an exploration of basic human need/desire and the paradoxical emotions that have been engaged during the past year of pandemic and quarantine. Kristen’s abstracts expressing the emotional impact of being homebound will play against Lorie Lee’s detailed and illustrative copper etchings and mixed media pieces.
All shows will open at 6 pm Friday, June 4th. Registration is required for entrance to this social distanced event. Guests can register online.
All shows are open for in-person, socially distanced visitors Monday-Friday from 9am – 5pm and online beginning June 7th. Make an appointment or view the online galleries at harrisoncenter.org/buy-art.

About the Harrison Center
