This exhibit runs from September 3 to October 11. This event is free and open to the public during Clowes Memorial Hall lobby hours: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
A guided tour and reception will take place on Tuesday, September 3 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Clowes Memorial Hall lobby.
Joy Hernandez presents an otherworldly collection of aerosol and acrylic paintings created with a stenciling technique. Stemming from an animation-related educational background, Hernandez explores concepts and scenarios with her original characters, primarily focusing on her faceless astronaut during “Elevate.” Always a pop culture fan, Hernandez also incorporates a love for the recent film “Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse,” the He-Man character Orko, and the comic book design concept of benday dots into additional work.
