'Healing Escapism' Closing Reception

“My art is a form of healing and escapism,” Glover said, of her collected paintings. “In my daily life, I deal with major anxiety and OCD. I have trouble leaving my house without checking certain things and worry that something may happen to them and it’ll be my fault. I worry I’m not good enough. I also deal with past traumas that haunt me. I share my pain with the world, and in doing so, I start to purge the weight of it.”

About Samantha Glover

Glover heals by creating abstract, fantastical, and weird worlds as a coping mechanism that she enjoys, working most often with acrylic paint. She’s been creating art since she was a small child, and after high school, graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with an Associate Degree in Fine Arts. Afterward, she graduated with a BFA in Integrative Studio Practice, while minoring in Art History, from the Herron School of Art and Design. She now lives in Greenwood and is a recent and enthusiastic addition to the Full Circle Nine Gallery.
“Hopefully in doing this, I can help create a space of healing and perhaps even furthered passion into the art I do,” Glover said.
