Covid-19 Preventative Measures:
Summit Performance Indianapolis is committed to a safe experience for all patrons, artists, staff, and volunteers. Summit is taking the following precautions for this event.
All ticket purchases will be made online
Zero-touch box office check-in only
All patrons, staff, and volunteers will be required to wear masks at all time
Seating will be marked for social distancing (a minimum of 6ft between each group)
Masks will be required for all attendees at all times (masks are only to be removed for eating/drinking).
Extra masks will be available on-site.
Two or more hand-sanitizer stations will provided.
The actors will not be masked but will be socially-distanced from each other and the audience at all times.
Restrooms will be cleaned daily (between each performance) by Marian University Staff and will be monitored for a maximum of two patrons at a time during the event.
About the play:
HELEN never goes to Troy in Ellen McLaughlin’s play. Instead, she spends the war fought in her name in a cushy Egyptian hotel room waiting anxiously for news and for her husband Menelaus to show up. Years into her odd, boring exile, Helen receives some unexpected visitors, prompting her to ask some hard questions. Is choosing the mundane in the name of self-agency worth sacrificing the grandeur of legend? Are we powerless victims of fate and the gods or complicit by our own inaction? And how much news can really be learned from a woman who has spent the last several decades as a cow?
“Helen” includes references to violence and sex, and some adult language.
