The 2021–22 DeHaan Classical Series is a grand world tour of musical masterworks. Enjoy musical postcards, a sampling of the immense musical catalog of different countries, regions, and cultures, and guest artists from around the world.
Based on a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales from the Islamic Golden Age, it’s a tale of suspense, surprise, and sensuality, and Scheherazade lets the symphony tell the story under the direction of Ruth Reinhardt. Enjoy this visit to the Middle East with Israeli composer Avner Dorman’s contemporary Azerbaijani Dance. Folk Songs by Iranian composer Reza Vali, with its Persian classical and folk music influence, comes to life with award-winning soprano Julia Bullock.
