Lalah Hazelwood with Kenyettá Dance Studio

Presently associate artistic director of Kenyetta Dance Company and a former performer with the Iibada children’s company, Hazelwood is an Art & Soul veteran.

An alum of North Central High School and Indiana University, Hazelwood is in her third year as an adjunct faculty member for IU’s dance program in Bloomington.

Her resume includes training at New York City’s Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and work with dance companies in Chicago and Philadelphia.

“It’s important for me to showcase everywhere I’ve been and bring that back to Indiana,” Hazelwood said. “That’s why I love teaching, because I feel like all my experiences mold who I am as a teacher.”
