Love at 85 told by Andy Offutt Irwin

Andy will be telling the story of his 85-year-old aunt, Marguerite Van Camp.  Having graduated recently from medical school, she has found a new boyfriend.  The story will chronicle the reactions of her family, as well as the adventures they undertake together.

Andy Offutt Irwin is perhaps one of the most well-known and sought after storytellers in the country.  He does a little bit of everything, from kids shows, to family friendly adult shows.  His shows include his original music, as well as his impressive whistling.  His storytelling has won him several awards, including the 2013 National Storytelling Network’s ORACLE Circle of Excellence Award, the 2001 Sammy Clark Award for Exemplary Teaching and Service, the 2017 National Parenting Product Award, and many more.  Andy has been featured at the National Storytelling Festival nine times, and has been the Teller in Residence at the International Storytelling Center.  He has also received congressional recognition for his work – For outstanding and invaluable service to the community – from Representative John Lewis.

Andy has held many occupations throughout his life, including a church youth director, a political satirist, a ditch digger, a bullfrog tadpole catcher, a garbage man, and more.  Andy draws on his experiences when telling his stories.
