The Madam Walker Story

Join Freetown Village for this first Friday event each month to learn about the story of the self-made millionaire Madam C.J. Walker. Visit the Walker Heritage Center and see memorabilia from Madam Walker and Indiana Ave. Jazz greats.

Freetown Village brings history to life with this one-character performance.  Learn the story of Madame C.J. Walker, the self-made millionaire as told from a “different” point of view.  Learn about her early life and the legacy she created.  Freetown Village has created a special character to bring this history to life presented in the very building she inspired.  Program repeats during performance time.  Contact us directly to schedule groups or building tours.
