About Meridian-Kessler – Originally on the outskirts of the city, Meridian-Kessler became a highly desirable neighborhood in the early 20th century. Over 15,000 residents in 6,500 households now live within its borders from Meridian Street to the west, Kessler Boulevard to the north, 38th Street to the south and the Monon Trail to the east. It's far enough from downtown to be thoroughly residential yet near enough to be completely urban, with gracious green spaces. The Home and Garden Tour was created in the 1970’s to promote the history, beauty and unique architecture of the neighborhood.
