Meshell Ndegeocello

Although her biggest mainstream hit is a 1994 duet with John Mellencamp on Van Morrison’s “Wild Night,” singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Meshell Ndegeocello has built a three-decade career on her skills as a bassist and topical songwriter, incorporating elements of R&B, jazz, rock and hip hop. Following the 2018 covers album Ventriloquism, the Grammy winner moved to the Blue Note label for her upcoming release The Omnichord Real Book, a collection of original music featuring contributions from many top jazz players.
