A Night in Havana: Tribute to Celia Cruz

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Latin Jazz Ensemble, a 25-piece big band co-led by percussionist Michael Spiro and trombonist Wayne Wallace, plays the best in high-energy Afro-Caribbean big band and instrumental music.

At this special concert, the band will be paying tribute to the great Cuban diva, Celia Cruz. It will feature the great “sonera” Yuri Rodriguez on vocals, along with other guest artists and performers. So bring your dancing shoes because the music is guaranteed to make you get up and dance – it’s the perfect antidote to the Bloomington winter!

Doors will open at 7:30pm, with the program starting at 8pm and lasting about 1.5 hours. Seating is general admission and no tickets are required – just show up!
