This Friday and Saturday, join conductor Matthew Halls and organist Paul Jacobs for Organ Spectacular! Jacobs will perform on the ISO’s extraordinary 1931 Wurlitzer Pipe Organ for Guilmant’s thundering Symphony No. 1 for Organ and Orchestra. The evening will also include French masterworks like Messiaen’s Les ofrandes oubliées and works by Milhaud and Ravel.

Beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, enjoy a free pre-concert presentation by Anthony Elia in the Wood Room.
Anthony Elia is Director of Library and Educational Technology at Christian Theological Seminary, an avid student of classical music history, and a composer in his own right. His Ears to Hear pre-performance talk will put both Messiaen and his masterwork in context, tuning our ears to hear the spiritual depth and dimensions of Messiaen’s Les offrandes oubliées.
