Join KIB for a fun Saturday afternoon as we create Indy’s first outdoor, interactive library accessible by bike: Pedals, Prose & Places! This event highlights community greenspace projects in downtown Indy neighborhoods along bike lanes and greenways, infuses learning and literacy, and supports the work of Keep Indianapolis Beautiful.
Check-in at the circulation desk at KIB’s headquarters, receive your library card (a detailed map of KIB greenspaces and pocket parks within Indy, organized into different reading genres), and plan your route according to your interests. On this self-guided bike tour, guests choose from topics including Science & Nature, History, Current Events, Religion, Children’s Lit, Cooking, Music, and tons more.
Listen to orators, become a musician, or interact with historians and artists as you travel from genre to genre, getting your library card stamped along the way (think choose your own adventure on bikes!) and partake in activities that inspire a love of creativity, nature and our amazing city! BONUS: Door prizes will be awarded for readers who dress as their favorite literary character, and those who stamp their library card at all locations will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize!
