The Phil inaugurates 78th season with Gershwin, Ravel, and Beethoven at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 14, 2018.
The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis, the largest community orchestra in Central Indiana, performs Gershwin’s Cuban Overture; Ravel’s Tzigane: Rhapsody for Violin and Orchestra featuring Jonathan Johnson, concertmaster; and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92. Alumni of the Phil’s annual Strings and Jazzy things Music Camp will join the orchestra to play Paul Desmond’s “Take Five.” Join us for a pre-concert “Listen and Learn” conversation with Conductor Orcenith Smith at 2:30 PM.
