Plot, at some point, drives every writer crazy. Why? How can you handle it? How do you stay ahead of your narrative without shoehorning it into a pre-arranged, constricting shape? What do you do when — not if — your characters do something you didn’t expect?

In this workshop we’ll explore these and other plot-related issues. We’ll look at the fundamental difference between plot and story, and discuss ways to use that difference to help bring a narrative under control.
