“REFLECTIONS” CALL FOR ART
THEME – This exhibit will focus on works of art where reflection/s are a central theme. Reflections can be literal or abstract. Please submit to us your best work that interprets reflection/s as you define it visually.
ABOUT MERIDIAN STREET GALLERY, LLC- Our gallery features an eclectic mix of fine art including printmaking, paintings, mixed media, fabric art, photography, installations, etc. Art is displayed on the beautiful marble walls in the large retail lobby of the Chamber of Commerce Building and on the 8th floor gallery, Suite 822. Our gallery is located directly downtown Indianapolis, across the street from University Park that contains the Indiana War Memorial Plaza and we are only a few blocks from Monument Circle that contains the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. We are located near many restaurants, galleries, retail shopping, and we are in the heart of many downtown professional businesses. We throw a special artist’s opening for each exhibition with live music and gourmet refreshments.
ELIGIBILITY- Entry is open to all visual artists, age 18 or older, residing in the United States.
SUBMISSION- A $25.00 fee is charged for submitting five ORIGINAL works of paintings, mixed media, fabric art (wall hung), photography, drawings, pastels, relief works (wall hung), small free standing sculpture, encaustics, lightweight ceiling hanging art, digital works, and printmaking. Works must be less than 35 lbs. each, unless otherwise stated or with special permission.
All works must have wire hangers. No saw hooks are permitted. No glass in frames allowed, but plexiglass and acrylic are acceptable. Original works only, no reproductions. While not all works require a frame, ex: a gallery wrapped canvas with painting on all visible sides or clean edges, the presentation must be professional with proper wire hanging hardware. If there are questions about what is an acceptable medium or hanging devices, please email the gallery before submitting. The gallery reserves the right not to display works if they aren’t presented professionally or if the submitted image is different than the actual work presented. If works are more than 20lbs, please state total weight.
