Swingin’ guitarist Russell Malone pays homage to the legendary Wes Montgomery in his 100th year with help from the incredible Indianapolis Jazz Collective as part of Indy Jazz Fest 2023!

Russell Malone often plays in a swinging, straight-ahead style, weaving in elements of blues, gospel, and R&B. After seeing George Benson perform with Benny Goodman on a television show, Malone was hooked on jazz and began intently studying albums by legendary guitarists like Charlie Christian and Wes Montgomery. As well as being a successful solo artist, Malone has also shared the studio and stage with huge jazz players like Ron Carter, Christian McBride, Wynton Marsalis, and more!
