Songwriter Showcase: Austin Johnson, Martine Locke, & Scott Kline

It’s time again to showcase local talent on The Warehouse stage! Our Singer-Songwriter Showcase hosted by Austin Johnson will feature an ‘in the round’ format in which musicians will share the stage and perform songs back-to-back. Come support new and local music!

Originally from Fort Wayne, Austin Johnson has played music his whole life, picking up the violin at the tender age of 4. He’s now based out of Indianapolis and has found a calling in songwriting, something he has grown more comfortable with in recent years. Austin recently released his debut, self-titled album in August. Aside from his own music, Austin also teaches voice and guitar at Midwest School of Voice and performs with various bands in the community.

Martine Locke

Martine spent the first part of her life on the run from the police. Her father, wanted by the Sydney police, became the living, breathing embodiment of Australian convict history when he gathered up his family and evaded jail time by hiding in the Australian outback. Some would say that it was this formative experience that prepared Martine for the life of an itinerant musician. Traveling the world in search of stories and tales to tell, expressing them through her songs and indeed through her stories. Music, performance and creativity is all Martine has ever known and she passionately lives, breathes and tackles all of life’s concerns through the heart of a creative soul.
