Spirit Slam

Spoken-word performances—poetry, dramatic reading, rap, storytelling, and more—showcase the artistic relationship to sacred texts as local youth and adults interpret JOURNEY-themed scripture from the Hebrew Bible and Christian New Testament. Julian "J.Kwest: Deshazier, an award-winning musician and pastor, hosts the competition.
