 Tin Dollhouses of Post-World War II America: 1940s – 1970s.

Pressed steel (also known as tin) dollhouses were first introduced in 1948 and dominated the 1950s, remaining popular until the 1970s. The economic boom after WWII, an active steel industry, and the introduction of hard plastic, made mass production of tin dollhouses and plastic furniture possible.
