The Richmond-based Virginia Repertory Theatre’s touring company performs a musical adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel. With book, music and lyrics by Paul Deiss, Treasure Island follows young Jim Hawkins on a swashbuckling West Indies sea adventure, downplaying the book’s rum-soaked violence in favor of its fun, action and moral foundation.
