-“Other People’s Oceans” by Kate Oberreich in the Harrison Gallery. Always fascinated with the movements of people, maps, and generally how we got where we are from somewhere else, Kate’s work focuses on the ways in which we find home. The artworks themselves are a mix of media – incorporating painting, embroidery, beading, collage, and cyanotype printing.
-“Wild Women’s Wearables” by Emily Gartner in the City Gallery. A fashion collection inspired by Indiana Landmarks and female subjects. All designs are created with organic cotton and eco-friendly dyes.
-“Stolen Moments from Home” by Stephanie Spay in the Gallery Annex. Based around glimpses of life in and around the home, each of the oil paintings in this show are either uncontrived and caught in the moment or still life.
-Also exhibiting in the Gallery Annex is “Spaces and Times” by Amy Reel Martin. With overlapping themes of space, flowers, and water the oil paintings in this show represent seasons in life. Outerspace is a metaphor for the unknown, water represents waiting, and flowers represent the temporary or passing of time.
-“Darling of the Underground” by Kristi Marsh Watson in the Underground Gallery. A mixed media collection of nontraditional methods, mediums, substrates, and chemicals to express cellular, aerial, and horizon landscapes.
Viewers can also enjoy:
-“Elevated Culture” by Omar Rashan in the Speck Gallery. This series of paintings is a cultivation of abstract realism grounded in cultural experiences with the goal to provoke progressive thought to empower the audience both spiritually and creatively.
-“Pi in the Sky: Imaginary Art Works for Indianapolis”. A group show in the Hank & Dolly’s Gallery.
All shows will open at 6 pm Friday, March 4th.
In-person gallery tours will open for visitors Monday-Friday from 9 am – 5 pm. Online galleries will open on March 7th. Make an appointment or view the online galleries at harrisoncenter.org/buy-art.
Special Senior Hours are every Friday from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. No appointment is needed.
