Sculpture allows me to challenge or confront common perceptions of reality, space and time. Using different concepts to compel the production of my work, I create objects and then take that object through a transformation of environments.

When you experience my work, you’ll see traditional sculptural techniques in that the sum of the processes includes modeling, casting, and metalwork. Recently, I’ve been describing my work as abstract figuration because all of my work relates to the body. Many of the materials are known traditionally in sculpture, but the forms and how they relate to the body are not intended to be traditional at all.

There are two important components to my artwork – the first is that I create fragments. The act of creating these forms, the concept that compels me, the creation of the work, how I relate it to the body, and then the environment in which I show it. I’m able to capture moments that no longer exist except through the creative process that manifests something tangible to experience. The second phase of my work is that I ask viewers to open up your mind and experience the work as you experience it. This work is for anyone and all who want to explore – whether you see how I relate it to the body or not. Please enjoy these tangible moments.
