Anastasia Maroney is a professional artist working within a wide variety of media.  She holds a B.A. in Fine Art from Indiana University and a M.S. in Art Education from the University of Tennessee.  She is also a fully credentialed Art teacher in the state of Indiana.  Anastasia is inspired by the intricacies of life around her – from the simple forms that present themselves every day, like the fruit her children eat for snack, to the flowers growing outside her studio windows and on to more complex topics such as the state of American culture, religion, relationships, and personal struggles.  There are so many opportunities to recognize beauty in God’s creation, whether it be through music, movement, or the visual cues that surround us everywhere.

After growing up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Anastasia attended art school at Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne.  Soon thereafter, she moved south to attend graduate school at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  A marriage and graduation led her to California, Georgia, Nevada, and then back to Indiana, all in a period of seven years.  During those years, Anastasia taught high school and middle school art, all while trying to find time to create work on her own.  After being blessed with her first two babies, she stopped teaching professionally to serve in a volunteer capacity while raising her children.  Seven years later, she and her husband were blessed with two more children, and she continued to find small pockets of time to create art.  After another professional year in the classroom, she decided to venture out as a professional artist full-time.  Since then, Anastasia has been working to create a professional body of work, and has been instructing students in her home studio while exploring venues for exhibiting and selling her work.
