Cody Clark has been practicing the art of magic since the age of 11, in spite of all of the things he was told he couldn’t do because of his autism. His combines his magic effects with scripts based on real life experiences, which gives his performances a greater sense of authenticity in a style he calls “magical realism”. He caught the attention of Genii magazine in their October 2016 issue, who noted that “because he is focused on his character when choosing material, he can take a classic or new piece and make it unique to him”. The Society of American Magicians has also recognized his talents by awarding him the 2017 Cherie Kay Rising Star of Magic award, given at their annual convention to young magicians who show professional promise. Cody has performed his one-man show about living with autism at many fringe festivals, small theatres, and schools/summer camps for autistic students. He performs in shorter segments on the monthly magic show circuit, consisting of Derby City Magic, Indy Magic Monthly, and Magic Chicago. And he has designed a show for young children inspired by his love of trains called “Conductor Cody”.  He is a student of the McBride Magic & Mystery School in Las Vegas and graduated from the University of Louisville in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Theatre Arts.

While Cody is based in Louisville, KY, he LOVES performing in Indianapolis! His earliest stage time was at Taylor Martin’s Indy Magic Monthly, where he still performs frequently every year. He is also a favorite of IndyFringe, who aside from featuring his solo show at their 2016 IndyFringe Theatre Festival, regularly brings him back to perform at events they host throughout the year. So don’t hesitate to contact him about your event in Indy! He will be glad to make the trip up to one of his favorite cities!
