The artist, Stephen Chamblee, earned his PhD in Mathematics from IUPUI in 2012. His thesis, “The Dynamics of Twisted Tent Maps,” was a study of the math behind the fractal structures you see in many of the pictures found on my website. The contrast in colors at these fractal structures indicates that a small change can make a big difference.
