I am highly interested in the relationship between various shapes, colors, layers, line, and textures within my paintings. As my work moves forward the paint gets thicker, and the layers deeper. I use a various number of techniques and tools to achieve a colorful and textural contrast among the various structures in
my work.
I start my paintings without much planning which gives the final product a spontaneous and energetic portrayal. The presence of nature and the human psyche can be found throughout my subjects. My subjects are assembled out of abstracted animals, landscapes, geometrical shapes, and contrasting textures.
My inspiration comes from my over analyzed perception of the world that surrounds me. In addition, other forms of inspiration come from such artists as; Salvador Dali, Hieronymus Bosch, Alex Grey, Kandinsky, and Francis Bacon to name a few.
I believe there is something new to be discovered in the world of painting. I am always striving to discover new possibilities within the realm of oil painting.
