Catherine’s training is in costume design and technology, though she works more in fashion and enjoys forays into the arts as well. Over the years, she has built everything from historical garments to  wedding dresses, mascots to zoot suits, dancewear and children’s wear, and even some fun arty projects like soft sculpture puppets.  She worked primarily in professional costume shops as a pattern maker and seamstress from 1991-2007.

Catherine has been doing primarily misses’ and women’s custom clothing pattern and sample making since August of 2007. She enjoys working with other designers and entrepreneurs in product development. In 2010 she launched a sleepwear and intimates brand, Sweet Revenge Lingerie, an in-house line of her design. The label rebranded and expanded into ready to wear as Rue Violet in 2013.

Catherine is a Creative Renewal Fellow (2005 Arts Council of Indianapolis) and a recipient of the Individual Artist Program Grant (2010 Indiana Commission for the Arts) in the category Fashion Design.
