Indianapolis is where I grew up, and except for time in the military, is where I lived most of the first 45 years of my life. Childhood had a beat, a rhythm, begun when my Dad took his young family to Michigan for summer vacations. Bright blue water, brown-sugar sand, and pines up to the sky every summer established an appreciation.

My interest in photography developed (ouch!) into profound love, as the surroundings in my new home beckoned. I have had modest success sharing the images through print sales and immodest satisfaction in finding that I can experience beauty more fully when expressing it in print. And learn from it. Every day.

My current efforts are twofold. There are direct comparisons of photographs made in 1990, when downtown Indianapolis was undergoing demolition, to new images of the same scenes made now. I am astonished at the change. There is also a series of impressions coming of what the city, and little parts of it, look like to me without reference to what came before. Beauty, where I find it. Timeless.
