R. Brian Noffke (Owner/Artistic Director)

Brian has always loved teaching the theatrical skills he has learned to aspiring actors and Acting Up Productions offers just that.  Brian has been performing in the Indy area for 20 years and has been a professional actor for the past 13 years.

Brian started out as a “techie” in high school and caught the acting bug from his mother and twin brother, Christopher.  In high school, Brian was involved in the band program, which took much of his time, not allowing him to participate in the theatre much at all. Therefore, in the time he was allowed, Brian joined the stage craft club and begin to learn the ins and outs of technical theatre.   In his senior year, he quit the band and aimed for the stage and to this day, he loves to play on and off the stage.  Brian is an avid actor, director, set designer, lighting designer, stage manager, props guy and producer.  Acting Up Productions offers Brian’s “tricks of the trade” in many different classes.

As an actor, Brian has performed in Avenue Q, Bat Boy – the Musical, TempObyssey, Phideas8 and Candy Store Window and directed Every Christmas Story Ever Told at The Phoenix Theatre.  At The Indiana Repertory Theatre, Brian has been seen in The Diary of Anne Frank, A Christmas Carol (6 times), Hamlet, The Taming of the Shrew, Amadeus, The Color of Justice, Ah, Wilderness!, Inherit the Wind, State of the Union and Pygmalion.   Brian recently directed successful productions of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof  (CCP), Night of the Living Dead, Winnie-the-Pooh (Indpls. Children’s Museum), Miss Saigon and Man of LaMancha  at Footlite Musicals.  He has also had the honor to work for Heartland Actors Rep Theatre, Indpls Civic Theatre, Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre, Spotlight Players, Myers Dinner Theatre and Footlite Musicals.    Favorite roles include Juror 10 (12 Angry Men, Spotlight), Polonius (Hamlet, IRT), The Crucible (Rev. Parris, Spotlight), Jesus Christ Superstar (King Herod, Footlite), Big River (The King, Indpls Civic Theatre) and Tevye (Fiddler on the Roof, WTCT/MDT).
