William Potter, Associate Professor in Foundation Studies, received his MFA degree in Painting from the University of Cincinnati’s school of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP) and his BFA in Painting and Sculpture from the Columbus College of Art and Design. He was director of the Foundations Program from 2001-2011, and has been Herron Faculty President since 2009. He currently teaches in both foundation studies and Painting and Drawing.

 

Exhibitions include “Hidden Forms Embedded Meanings at the Basile Gallery,  “Touch Faith” at the Semantics Gallery curated by Jeffrey Cortland Jones, “Shaped” at the Manifest Gallery curated by Jason Franz, and “Constructed Paintings” at Indiana Wesleyan University. In 2007, He received the Arts Council of Indianapolis Creative Renewal Fellowship. The fellowship allowed for travel to Germany to study the Bauhaus and travel to the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas to study the work of Donald Judd.
