I chose to specialize in portraiture because I am able to get a good likeness in my portraits and capture elements of personality specific to each person I paint.  I have taught portrait painting for over 17 years–at Herron School of Art and at the Indianapolis Art Center.  My paintings are exhibited at the Law School, IUPUI; The Department of Psychiatry, IU Medical Center; the City-County Building, Indianapolis; The University of Southern Indiana; the Indiana Medical History Museum as well as in many private collections.  Teaching classes and private lessons (one of my students was John Mellencamp) is an important aspect of my career as well.
