Starr never dreamed that her love for nature and color would develop into art. When diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002 she was faced with new and abrupt challenges. Creativity allows her to conquer daily obstacles and express the voice that was once hidden deep within.

A self-taught artist, she works with mosaics, acrylic, watercolor, encaustics, chalk, photography, altered art, resin, fiber,  papers, mica, block printing, and various combinations of mediums in various styles.  Her passion is life and she likes to envelop reality, whimsy, and spiritual symbolism in all of her work. Her inspiration comes from life and from the insights of her personal experiences.
