Omar Rashan is an African American artpreneur and multidisciplinary artist who goes by the alias O the Creator. Born in Evansville, Indiana in 1980, Rashan currently lives in Indianapolis. He works in a variety of artistic mediums such as therapeutic arts, graphic design, digital arts, and public engagement. He is a self-taught artist with formal education in commercial design. During his collegiate years as a design major, he found that in the creation of a vision, there is an ability to transform pain into positive energy. He was determined to share this enlightenment with others. In his art practice, he explores this by example, confronting his past traumas through controlled chaos in mixed media materials.

As Rashan continued to flourish as a fine artist and designer, he set out to be proactive in his community. For fifteen years, he has worked in behavioral health services. Rashan has helped people of all ages deal with social, emotional, and behavioral health impairments from living in trauma-informed environments. Currently, a Life Coach, Rashan merges his talent for the arts and passion for spiritual healing. He has developed programming in collaboration with non-profits such as Community Action of Indianapolis in 2019 and is currently working in partnership with VOICES Corp. Through this new programming, he will be establishing small healing art centers throughout the Midwest where he can offer individual and family sessions while providing access to online courses. Bringing the arts into therapy, Rashan gives people the power to unlock their subconscious mind to release pain and find meaning with clarity. He is a spiritual vessel, providing others with the space to empower and connect with their true essence. Some methods he uses to lead others are journaling, guided meditation, and spontaneous painting for stress reduction.
