Artist’s Biography

I live in Indianapolis Indiana. I began to work with pastels, watercolor and oil paint around the age of fourteen. I completed a number of avocational and city college level night classes in drawing and painting during high school and then my military service. Other than that, I am self-trained. At University I pursued a degree in science and ended up in a career as a research biologist. During this time I managed to paint a bit a night and on weekends and began to paint semi-professionally around 1997. This is when I began to do much more impressionistic, semi and non-representational work. I began to do a few small shows and also one or two pieces of commissioned work but because I had a demanding job really didn’t have the time to be serious with it at that time. I retired from my research career at the beginning of 2018 and am now devoting my time and energy toward pursuing my painting.
